Julie was born and raised in the Bronx, NYC. She showed an interest in acting at a young age, and started attending classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts when she was 15 years old. She continued her studies there through the age of 18, and was accepted into their Acting intensive program. After graduating high school, she attended Fordham University at Lincoln Center, studying playwriting, directing, and acting. Upon graduating, she landed her first role in a film called "King of 42nd Street", directed by John Montgomery. She continued to perform in various plays around NYC, appearing at The American Theatre of Actors, The Producer's Club, and in numerous Theatre festivals. Soon after, Julie developed an interest in comedy, and started studying improv at The Manhattan Comedy School and the Upright Citizen's Brigade. She then founded her own improv/sketch comedy troupe "Each Sold Separately", and began performing at various comedy clubs all over NYC.
