Julia Campanelli is an award-winning filmmaker and actress. Her film '116' screened in over 50 festivals world-wide, won 26 awards, will be released 2021. Her award-winning screenplay, The Paisley Witch Trial, is a finalist in Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope Screenplay Competition, short-listed by The Black List, #1 on The Red List 2020, and has won 11 best screenplay awards. Julia is the founder of Shelter Film, a New York-based independent film company dedicated to changing the narrative in front of and behind the camera with films by and about women, BIPOC, and marginalized humans. Julia is known for starring roles in NBCUniversal's re-make of Francis Ford Coppola's Dementia 13, Kill the Monsters, 116, One Life To Live, and appeared as Hecate in the OBIE, Drama League, and Drama Desk Award-winning Off Broadway hit show 'Sleep No More' . Julia founded Shelter Theatre Group NYC, a company dedicated to inclusion and diversity on stage. Julia produced and directed 13 stage productions in NYC, including the critically acclaimed Macbeth on LES.
