Michael Kavalus was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Joseph and Mary Ellen Kavalus. He played sports nonstop throughout his childhood and happily spent his summers down the Jersey shore. He attended an all-boys college preparatory high school to help focus his studies and it was during this time when Michael starting exploring the arts, with photography and painting initially. He went on to receive a BA in Psychology from Bucknell University, where he first studied film and theater, and continued exploring his interest in photography and graphic design. Following a year working with inner city youth in Los Angeles, Michael shifted his focus to pursue his dream of becoming an actor and enrolled in classes at UCLA. He immediately got his feet wet with extra work on Scrubs and The O.C., and went on to study with Howard Fine at The Howard Fine Acting Studio in Hollywood for several months. Soon after, Michael appeared in several short films and began auditioning for commercials, before relocating to New York City on a gut instinct in 2008. He landed several short films within his first month and was then cast in Amazing Sports Stories, produced by Fox Sports Network, and Haunting Evidence, produced by TruTV and Departure Films. In addition to a love for acting and storytelling, he is also somewhat addicted to traveling and is very much at home on the road and outdoors.
