Valerie Bischoff is a writer, director, and Fulbright Scholar from Reno, Nevada. Her work champions underdogs, anti-heroes, and outsiders fighting for justice in backwards worlds. She is currently developing her first narrative feature film, True Patriots, which was selected for the 2019 Cine Qua Non Screenwriting Lab and 2019 Stowe Story Lab as an International Screenwriter's Association (ISA) Fellow. In 2020, she was named one of ISA's "Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch," and was chosen for the Women In Film mentoring program. Valerie's award-winning short narrative and documentary films have screened internationally at dozens of festivals including the Palm Springs Shortfest, the Athens Film and Video Festival, and online via MTV, Fusion, and NBC. Her projects have also been supported by the Princess Grace and Adrienne Shelly foundations. Valerie received her B.A. in Film from the University of California at Santa Cruz and M.F.A. in Directing from Columbia University.
