Michael Schwartz is an award-winning writer, director and producer, and the founder of Boat Ashore Productions. His films include Snatched, starring Emmy Award Winner Tatiana Maslany, Brendan Hines, and Misha Osherovich, for 20th Digital Studio, premiering Fall 2022 on Hulu, and the award-winning Montana, starring Jennifer Mudge and Chris Henry Coffey, streaming now on Amazon. He has directed music videos for Billboard charting pop duo Karmina with Academy Award nominated composer/producer John Powell (Solo: A Star Wars Story, How To Train Your Dragon), and Grammy Award Amplifier finalist Malynda Hale. His latest music video, God And His Gun, has been nominated for Music Video of the Year at The 2022 Josie Awards - The Grammy Awards for independent musicians. TV projects in development as a creator include Senior High (Featured on The Red List, Top 5 Finalist - Final Draft's Big Break 2021), Montana (Finalist - Sundance New Voices Lab 2018 and Sundance Episodic Story Lab 2016), Pac Heights (Finalist - SeriesFest 2016), Spice It Up! (formerly in development with Warner Music Group/Eko) and 8th Deadly Sin. He is currently shopping his debut novel, Project Wild (Top 100 in Launch Pad's prose competition, honoring the best unpublished manuscripts in the world.) He was one of May 2022's Endorsed Writers on Coverfly, the premiere platform for screenwriters. As an award-winning theatre maker, he has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and at Lincoln Center, and directed productions at some of the world's most notable theaters, including The Old Vic in London, Yale University in New Haven, and the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. Additional work includes large-scale experiential direction for numerous high profile events, and annual event direction for The Tony Awards. Michael's work has been covered by Vanity Fair, Vogue, Variety, Entertainment Weekly, Bloomberg, PBS and The New York Times.
