Phill Branch is a Moth GrandSlam Champion and the 2019 recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council's "Solo Performance Award" and a 2019 Rubys Artist Award grantee for storytelling and performance. Isolation Be Like (2020), a podcast he produces and hosts, uses storytelling to riff on current events and issues such as art, identity, education and parenting. An alumnus of the American Film Institute, Branch directed Searching for Shaniqua (2016); his documentary about the impact names have on our lives.The film won the HBO Best Documentary award at the 2016 Martha's Vineyard African-American Film Festival.
