An aspiring entertainer since the ripe age of 5, Akiba Robinson started out demonstrating her talents by performing for family members, participating in local talent shows, and acting in school plays. At the age of 11, Akiba competed at the world famous Apollo Theatre as a vocalist, where she came home with second prize. Being professionally trained at one of the most well known schools for theatre arts, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York City, Akiba was introduced to a wide variety of interests in the entertainment field. Eventually, Akiba incorporated television hosting into her long list of endeavors. TV hostess experience includes hosting for "Mad Flavor", "Splash TV", "FM Video" and "Soulcity Unplugged". It is through hosting that she has interviewed many celebrities including, but not limited to music artists such as Alecia Keys, Ceelo Green, supermodel Tyson Beckford, actors such as Maia Campbell, Adrienne-Joi Johnson, and many, many more. Throughout her hosting career, Akiba has interviewed on the red carpet of the BET Awards, BET Comedy Awards, ASCAP awards, Source Awards, car shows, fundraiser events, and many major record labels in New York City. As a result of interviewing well known celebrities, Akiba was motivated to incorporate her talents into achieving her own celebrity status. Acting soon became her primary interest. With regard to on camera appearances, Akiba Robinson has quite a few. She can be seen in movies such as "Strapped", "Gods and Generals", "Ladder 49", various independent films, reality shows "Are You Hot", and "Blind Date", TV shows "West Wing", "The District", House of Cards, "Nightmare Next Door", "Evil Twins", and commercials: "The United Way", and "Sprint/Nextel". She has also been featured in Carl Thomas' music video "Love at first Sight", and various other music videos. Akiba's passion for acting in front of the camera soon led her to express herself and incorporate her talents on the production side. With the encouragement and direction of her mentor, Manuel Poblete of Bello Talent, Akiba has written, produced and starred in two short films, "Asstritis" and "Last Will and Testament." The success of these films have inspired her to reach a broader audience of viewers by creating new television content directed towards docudramas and reality shows. Akiba's broad range of talents will inspire many to follow in her footsteps, while making her mark in the entertainment industry.
