Sofie Khan grew up with a Mexican mother and a Pakistani father in a Black'a'Rican neighborhood in inner-city Chicago #AllAmericanPosterChild. At 9 years old, her family relocated to bordertown Brownsville, Texas - where she absorbed her southern twang among a ton of other wild experiences. After 7 years in Texas, her family headed back to Chicago and Sofie burrowed herself in tech and the arts - dance, music, theater, and writing, as solace from her crazy-ass surroundings in inner-city Chicago. Sofie and her sisters enjoyed playing around with their parents Mexican & Pakistani accents which led Sofie to jump into sketch comedy to secretly play with her parents' characters while trying to be pre-med in college. After college #PreMedFail, Sofie began training at Second City Conservatory and other acting schools in Chicago and LA. She is proud to have been a part of Teatro Luna - where she created her first solo show Excuse Me Waiter, There's Tandoori Chicken in My Tortilla Soup! as well as Salsation! Sketch Comedy Troupe, Steppenwolf's Sketchbook Comedy Festival, Rasaka Theater Company, CASA 0101, LA's Funny Women Festival. Most recently, Sofie has been performing her new one-woman show MexiStani: Growing Up Mexican and Pakistani in America since its sold-out, award-winning premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
