Michael G. Petersen

Independent filmmaker, Michael G. Petersen, has had a life-long love affair with the movies. Born in 1984, in Melvindale, MI, He credits his start in filmmaking to a failed shot by shot remake of "Back to the Future" at age seven with his father, Gary James Petersen. Studying film and video at both Melvindale High School and The William D. Ford Career Technology Center, Petersen attracted attention with a talent for crisp editing, dramatic lighting, and flair for storytelling. Early successes include the poetic, "Winter Storm"; and his introductory commercial, "HRH Thunderbolt" which propelled the W.D.F.C.T.C. combined school team to first place in the Wayne County National Competition." Petersen has produced a number of short films including The Eye of Zurock, Sherome, Pgad Felcher, the award - winning zombie web-series The Last Broadcast Film Series and his first feature Anamorphia. He's also directed a handful of heavy music videos for the Michigan based bands, As They Sleep, Bernadette Kathryn and the upcoming debut video for the band Wulfhook. He's acted in four shorts as part of the principal cast and appeared as an extra in two feature films, one of those films was the Michael Bay film, Transformers. He's also worked as a part-time editor and camera operator for M1-Studios and Silver Bullet Pictures located in Ferndale, MI and Royal Oak, MI respectively. Mike has done numerous commercial and documentary work for both companies over the past four years. He's also worked full time at the Henry Ford VTL Laboratory in their Motion Capture Department. Recently he became the proud owner and founder of Dark Fortress Pictures LLC, an independent film/production company that deals with any type of film/commercial related work.
