Actress Britt Hysen was born in Burbank, California. She graduated from Notre Dame High School, Sherman Oaks, known for churning out talents such as actress, Kirsten Dunst, and American Idol (2003) grand finalist, Katharine McPhee. Both of her parents worked in the film business, so she grew up hanging out on TV and film sets and on studio back lots with her father, Mark D. Hysen. She always wanted to be an actress, but was prevented from entering the business until 18 by her parents. Britt's first gig as an actor was as a non-union, live-action performer at Universal Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights. She played a demented nurse in an insane asylum. Britt qualified for her SAG card by working as background on _Get Smart(2008)_ with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, and by doing a featured waitress role in Yes Man (2008) with Jim Carrey. In the spring of 2007, she was cast as a member of the classic secretarial pool at the fictitious Sterling Cooper Agency in AMC's hit series Mad Men (2007). Her regular appearance led to her role as Mary in the second season. In August of 2008 she joined the cast of Nickelodeon's Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh (2008) where she played electric bass for Drake's rock and roll band and had the opportunity to work with her friends, actors Josh Peck and Devon Graye. In 2009 she played the role of murdered crime victim, Amanda Bertram in CBS's Criminal Minds (2005) with actor, C. Thomas Howell. While acting and attending college, Britt has been honing her producing skills through local theatre productions, and has co-written an episodic TV pilot with her mother, author-screenwriter, Sylvia Hysen. Britt is first generation German-American, and her ancestry is from Dresden, Germany. She currently resides in Burbank, CA with her family, cat, and two German Shepherds.
