Actress/Musician Charissa Wheeler is the daughter of a minister and a music teacher from a small town in Southeastern Minnesota. As early as age 4, she commonly appeared in local performances as a young pianist and singer, thanks to the tutelage of her mother. With a BFA in Musical Theatre from Millikin University, Charissa got her start in Chicago, performing in original plays, improv shows, and sketch shows, in Chicago's numerous black box theatres. She also broke into the Chicago Indi film community as the unsuspecting secretary in the cult classic horror film, "The Promise Keeper". In Los Angeles, Charissa made her television debut on the show "On The Lot" (FOX), hosted by Director D.J. Caruso. Then Inside Edition revealed Charissa as the bride who fell into a pool in a well-known YouTube clip that has become an internet sensation with over 1 Billion views worldwide. This clip is commonly mistaken as real wedding day footage, but is actually taken from a scene in the movie "Chloe and Keith's Wedding," in which Charissa played the title role. Charissa also wrote and stars in "The New 20's," a sitcom about being 30's and single in the modern dating scene. Charissa can often be seen live in stand-up, sketch, and improv performances in Los Angeles. Notably, she performed popular Python sketches with a twist in the recurring all-female show "Monty Pythong", with audiences including Python member Eric Idle. She is also a stand-up comedian at Los Angeles venues including the Hollywood Improv & the Comedy Store. A skilled Pianist/Vocalist and Music Teacher of many years, Charissa opened a popular Burbank private music teaching school called The Music Junction, for 200 young local piano and voice students. As a Singer/Songwriter, Charissa's first album, Walk Alone, is scheduled for release in 2016.
