Amy Giaquinto is an award-winning feature film screenwriter with a Certificate in Feature Film Writing from UCLA Extension. Her most recent action/thriller script was a semifinalist in the prestigious 2020 Nicholl Fellowship competition and is making the rounds in Hollywood. In addition to screenwriting, Amy has worked as a 2nd Assistant Director on various film and commercial projects, including several of her own award-winning zero budget short films and she has even produced for public access TV. While at UCLA Extension, Amy scored an internship reading for the prestigious Sundance Institute Writers and Directors Labs programs. The experience was crucial in helping Amy hone her craft, so much so that now reads and provides coverage for The 51 Fund, a private equity fund financing films that are written, directed, and/or produced by women. She also works by referral only as a freelance script consultant. Additionally, Amy enjoys making short films with her family. She produced the award-winning short film, "Tire Swing," which won American University's Eco-Comedy Video Competition and the SpudFilm Environmental Film Festival and was chosen as an Official Selection for a half-dozen environmental film festivals both in the US and internationally. She wrote, produced and directed the award-winning short film, "Through Gabriel's Eyes," which premiered in 2018 at the Stories of Hope Film Festival in Los Angeles and was a 2019 winner of the Moondance International Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado. Amy is an active member of Women in Film and Media Colorado and she also participates in many other WIF chapters' events. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, doing adult gymnastics, flipping on the trampoline, beating a punching bag, camping, swimming, travelling, ice skating, snowshoeing and more. Trivia: * Amy is a former amateur dirt bike racer and motor sports journalist. * Pre-COVID, she loved participating in adult gymnastics. * She was a Search and Rescue explorer in high school.
