Hollie Olson, always a performer at heart, comes by music naturally. Her mother, Shirlee Olson, played piano and sang live on her own radio show. Her brother played guitar and sang professionally from his early teens. By age 18, Hollie was working full time as a professional keyboard player and lead singer. Throughout her 25+ years in the music business, Hollie has performed throughout the eleven western states in a variety of acts, from solo piano/vocals to full bands. Through those connections she also found herself doing TV and radio commercials and voiceover work, which she still does today. While music has been a main focus in her life, Hollie technically began her entertainment career as an actress, first performing in school plays, and taking drama and dance classes at Clark College. In addition to parts in music videos, she has landed lead and principal roles in numerous features and award-winning short films, and earned a best actress nomination for her lead role in the short film James Vs Reality at the Angeleno Film Festival in Hollywood. Hollie also began composing and performing the soundtracks for local film productions. Always intrigued by the technical side of filmmaking, she set a goal of becoming a filmmaker and went on to write and direct three short films and two features. Along with her work as an actress and musician, Hollie has published her full length memoir: "I'm Not a Groupie, I'm IN the Band! The Real Life Adventures of a Female Musician," a humorous take on her career in music. An integral member of the local film community, Hollie continues to combine her three passions: acting, films and music.
