Dr. Rosalind Cartwright was Professor (later Emeritus) and Chair of the Department of Psychology at the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical University (NYC), where she founded the Sleep Disorder Service and Research Center. She specialized in the study of sleep, particularly REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, and its effects on depression, eating, sexual activity, and violent behavior.
