Matt Tramel is a film, television, commercial, and stage actor and VO artist based in Los Angeles. After launching his acting career in Texas, he relocated to LA in 2012 and chose Silver Lake as the neighborhood to settle in first. His ongoing study of the craft comes at The Extra Mile Acting Workshop in North Hollywood, where he spent several years guided through scene study and performance training by veteran character actor and fellow Texan Glenn Morshower. A trademark mustache, lanky build, and playful physicality add a distinct and memorable visual component to Tramel's strong skills as a comedy performer. Those skills were cultivated, in part, by years of performances as part of the Houston cast of ComedySportz, the long-running live comedy show. Among the notable comedy work he's done in LA is a stage production of Virtual Reality, written by Academy Award winner Alan Arkin, in the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2018 where he collaborated with fellow Extra Miler Jeff Elam under the direction of Glenn Morshower. Born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in nearby Mesquite, Tramel began his acting career in Houston after earning a degree in Civil Engineering at Rice University. He became a known quantity through his live performances across the city's rich landscape of theater, performing in numerous productions at Theatre Southwest, Main Street Youth Theater, The Country Playhouse, and other venues. His performance training in Houston included improvisation, short-form and long-form, as well as the study of the acting techniques of Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner.
