Namrata Rao

Namrata Rao is a film editor, with more than a decade long experience of working in the Indian Film Industry. Namrata started her career as a graphic designer, also worked with NDTV for a while, after which she studied film making at Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata. Namrata started her film career by working in various documentaries and eventually going on to edit cult films like Shanghai (2012), Ishqiya (2010), Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008) to name a few. She won the Best Editing Award for her work on various feature films like Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) and Band Baaja Barat (2011). Namrata won the National Film Award in 2012 for Best Editing for the critically acclaimed film, Kahaani directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Her most recent projects include Made In Heaven, an Amazon Prime TV Series released in 2018. She is working on her first feature film which she is slated to direct.
