Originally from Maryland, Curtis graduated Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, majoring in Songwriting and Business. In 2006, his band, Curtis Murphy Syndicate, won an LA Music Award for "Rock Single of the Year" for their song, "Take a Little While." A second song was also nominated in the same category called "Lines Upon Your Face", and they also received a nomination for "Rock Album of the Year" for that album entitled "What It Is..." Curtis later joined forces with J. Penberth Rabold, a brilliant script writer, to develop multiple TV series and films under their production company, Lydian Pictures. Multiple series and features in different stages of development and pre-production make up Lydian's dynamic slate, with elevated drama the most common genre.
