Actor Kent Sanders is a native New Yorker who originally hails from Hollis, Queens and now calls Washington, D.C. his home. Described as "quirky leading male," Kent's distinctive voice has earned him a wide range of roles in commercials, television, film and live theater. Some of his most notable television work includes appearances on the critically acclaimed Netflix series House of Cards (2013) and Veep (2012) on HBO, as well as roles in TV One, YouTube and AFI productions. Prior to acting, Kent studied IT Networking Security and received certification from the Chubb Institute. It was via Chubb that Kent developed an interest in acting when fellow alum suggested that Kent's height and unique voice would place him in high demand as a performer in the industry. Further encouraged by his large, loving family, he developed a passion for the craft and is grateful to be a working actor. Kent's additional work in television includes co-starring roles on Capitol Sins - (2013), "For My Man," "Little Yellow," "No Way, Go," "Bring It," and "We Will Bring It," featured roles on "Rim Of The Edge," The Real George Washington (2008), How I Killed My Roommate... And Got Away with It (2012), "To Have We," "Rufus," and a recurring role on "Mink." His film work includes a leading role in "Open Relationship," featured roles in "The Introvert Life (webseries)," "Women's Studies" and "Toe To Toe," and supporting roles in "Jane Ho: Love For Sale," "Before The Underground," Water in a Broken Glass (2018), Cashing Out (2009), "What Does God Want Me To Do," "Mike's Mom," "Absolutely" and two of his favorite indie film roles, "Signals," and "The Ticket." Kent credits much of his talent to working onstage with the Ebeyana Studio Theatre and starring in their live productions of "Step Out," "Secrets Reveler," "Payday Is Coming" and "The Gospel." Honing his creativity through the study of theater and improvisation helped prepare him for a career on stage and on set. Kent's professional training includes the Meisner Technique, Strasberg, Shakespeare/Stella Adler, Acting Masterclass, Acting Intensive, Commercial Intensive, Comedic Intensive, Auditioning, Pro Development Program, Scene Study and Monologue. Kent is also an accomplished athlete, sports fan and fitness expert who has excelled in baseball, basketball, football, track and field, weight lifting and billiards/pool. His special skills include improv, comedy, drama, voiceover, stage combat, combat training and stunt training, urban and southern accents, teleprompter, chef, motion capture experience and the Alexander Technique.
