Rolf Scheider

Rolf Scheider was born and raised in Cologne, Germany. After completing his business studies he worked in the Beauty and Cosmetics Industry and moved to Paris in 1975 to work as a make-up artist and model. He founded the model agency People International in the 80s and after working on more than 4000 castings, he sold the company. He now is head casting director at Casting Company (based in Paris and Berlin) with affiliates in all fashion metropolises such as London, Milan, Barcelona, New York and Los Angeles. He owns and runs both model agencies 1A Management and Special Booking. He is a regular presence on German television, most famously as a member of the jury on Germany's Next Topmodel with Heidi Klum, and also a contestant in the popular German program Wok WM and Let's Dance. He is a media celebrity in German-speaking countries but also spends a great deal of his time in Paris, where his husband lives and where Casting Company was founded. He is especially known for his sense of humor, love and expertise for lifestyle and fashion and his French-tinted accent. He speaks French, German and English and lives between Berlin and Paris with his partner, Julien Peltier.
