Inspired by true-life stories and bold storytelling, Phillip Andrew Morton's work has been seen on television and computer screens across the world. As both a film director and a creative director, his clients have included Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Warner Bros., and many others. His last film, Spanish Lake, was a groundbreaking documentary that helped establish the genre of racism horror that films like Get Out and Us would later follow. Phillip's passion for cinema started as a young boy in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating college, he moved to Los Angeles, where he landed a job at mOcean, editing movie trailers for box-office smashes such as Ocean's Thirteen and The Prestige. He soon transitioned to documentary work, producing and directing films for comedian Katt Williams, Oscar-winning actress Regina King, and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright. His own tour-de-force documentary, Spanish Lake, received intense media coverage including glowing reviews from Huffington Post and Village Voice. The controversial Netflix film, focused on a town devastated by white flight, was banned from theaters in September 2014 due to Spanish Lake's close proximity to Ferguson, Missouri, which had just been the epicenter of rioting in the wake of the murder of Michael Brown. The film's unblinking view of American racism, use of a horror music score, and theatrical filming technique would predate the film Get Out by three years. Recently Phillip has been creative directing and producing for giants in the media world. His expertise in graphic design and visual effects helped land him several high profile jobs including his role as a producer for the launch of Apple TV+. He has also spearheaded main title sequences for television shows such as I Am the Night and motion logo designs for Playstation and New Republic Pictures. Post Coronavirus, he served as a creative director for LinkedIn's first virtual global conference.
