Jussi Rautaniemi (1984)is a freelance film editor from Helsinki, Finland. Best known for his work on The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (directed by Juho Kuosmanen) which won at Cannes film festival 2016, best film in Un Certain Regard selection and European film awards Prix Fipresci. In Cannes 2017 a short film edited by Jussi The Ceiling (directed by Tepp Airaksinen) got Special Mention at the main selection. Critics week at Cannes 2018 featured a short film by Mikko Myllylahti, the Tiger and back in 2010 film The Painting Sellers (by Juho Kuosmanen) won the Cinefondation- series in Cannes, both also edited by Jussi. He also continuously works with documentary director Virpi Suutari and fiction director Teppo Airaksinen. Works with feature fiction, feature documentary, TV-drama, short films and film trailers. Nominated four times for best editing for the film Korso (2014), The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (2016), Juice (2018) and Aalto (2020) in the Finnish Jussi Awards. Graduated in 2012 from the Aalto University, the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, majoring in film editing.
