A prolific visual artist, Joshua Raven started at a young age, training with a Manhousat First Nation master carver. After receiving several scholarships to the University of Victoria's Fine Arts department, Joshua went on to graduate from the Victoria Motion Picture school. As featured in the October 2011 Reader's Digest, he painted one of Chemainus, B.C.'s world famous murals. Before starting production on his feature film, "The SeaSerpent's Song", Joshua was the director of the Cowichan First Nation's Vision Digital Media program, a hugely successful film school for at-risk aboriginal youth. Mr. Raven is a dedicated community volunteer, mentoring at-risk, disabled and disadvantaged youth through local youth services agencies and First Nation administrations, as well as supporting the Canadian Blood Services Agency.
