Chris Moukarbel

With his debut film, Me At The Zoo (Sundance 2012), Chris Moukarbel established a new directorial style that involved accessing a significant amount of user-generated footage from the internet. He used this style to tell the story of internet celebrity Chris Crocker (Leave Britney Alone) and the birth of YouTube. Moukarbel was approached by Sheila Nevins at HBO to chronicle Banksy's self imposed NYC residency. Banksy Does New York premiered on HBO in Nov 2014. He is also creator of the new HBO series Sex On which explores sex and relationships in the Information Age. Moukarbel directed and produced the acclaimed film GAGA: Five Foot Two which premiered on Netflix. His work often explores ideas around performance and identity.
