Joel Hoffmann

After starting his writing career as an award-winning investigative reporter, Joel Hoffmann shifted his focus to screenwriting for television and film. In 2018, he began development of his first sitcom, a coming-of-age tale set in the late 1990s, with a killer, original premise. His journalistic work has appeared in Philadelphia Weekly, San Diego Magazine and the San Diego Union-Tribune (where he also produced and appeared in broadcast and Internet TV segments). He twice won the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association's Distinguished Writing Award, and has appeared as a guest on KNSD and KPBS in San Diego, and on WHYY in Philadelphia.
