Although María del Rosario "Charo" Zarzalejos (Bilbao 1952) has a law degree from the University of Deusto in 1975, she always dedicated herself to journalism. She began her career in the now disappeared Gazette of the North of Bilbao. She was also a pioneer in founding Vasco Press, the first non-nationalist news agency in the Basque Country.
