In 2008, Sofia arrived in New York City from Portugal to complete a one year program in Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy. What started as simply a year abroad quickly turned into a love affair with the Big City. She knew she had found her place. Five years later, Sofia is still in the Big Apple and fulfilling her dreams as an actress. Sofia's first stage appearance premiered in 2009 at The Player's Club Theater as the frantic Maggie the Cat in an adaptation of A Cat In A Hot Tin Roof and, A Streetcar Named Desire. In 2010, Sofia played Sarah, the phone sex operator, in Theresa Rebeck's, Does This Woman Have A Name. In addition to the stage, Sofia is currently (2013) working in multiple film projects and studying her craft.
