The current Earl of Snowdon, born David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones is a sitting member of the House of Lords, as well as, an English furniture maker, and a former chairman of the auction house Christie's UK, who goes by David Linley professionally. He founded David Linley Furniture Limited (now known as Linley), a company that makes bespoke furniture, upholstery, and interior design products with a neoclassical look. He is an extended member of the royal family and grandson of King George VI and son to Princess Margaret of the United Kingdom. At the time of his birth, he was fifth in the line of succession to the British throne. As of 20 September 2022, he now is 24th in the line of succession, and the first person who is not a directly descended from his aunt, Queen Elizabeth II. His father, Antony Armstrong-Jones, the 1st Earl of Snowdon passed in 2017 and he inherited his hereditary title to become the 2nd Earl of Snowdon. Prior to then, he held the subsidiary title, the Discount Linley from 3 November 1961 - 13 January 2017 that is held by the heir apparent.
