Deborah Klayman is a Scottish actress, playwright and voice artist based in West London. She trained at Drama Studio London and the University of Northumbria and is a founding member of Whoop 'n' Wail Theatre Company. Previous theatrical roles include: Emilia in Othello/Juliana Tesman in Hedda Gabler (in rep for Icarus Theatre, UK & Ireland Tour), Regan in King Lear (TNT Theatre - UK/Latin American Tour), Fluellen/Alice in Henry V and Hostess in The Merry Wives of Windsor (South Hill Park Productions), Prisoner C in eXclusion (Whoop 'n' Wail Theatre Company - UK Tour), Mrs Pugh/Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard/Mrs Beynon in Under Milk Wood (Pentameters Theatre), Mrs Hoare/Tommy in Kiddy-Fiddler On the Roof (Bad Taste Ideas Factory), and Lilith in Eve & Lilith (Absolute Finnloch Theatre Company). Film and TV roles include: Carer in TaxAid (VCL Media), Sue in The Box (Rakesh Mohun Productions), Sarah in For Better or Worse (Whoop 'n' Wail), Reporter in Mission London) (Fidelity Films), Freya in The Honey Trap (Cinema Vigilante), Sam in Duke of Edinburgh Awards Promo (BBC Scotland), and Geordie in Dead Man's Cardy TV Pilot (DMC Productions). Deborah has recorded narrations and voiceovers for a variety of clients including: The Scottish Sunday Express (Portland TV), BP (Take 3), Harvey & Thompson (London Creative), The Kelvingrove Museum (Spiral Productions), John Cooper Productions, Roybal Corp, and Oxford University Press. Plays include: Smash & Grab, Lock Up Your Sons, Civil, Para, Cause for Alarm, and Eve & Lilith (with Jessica Martenson). Deborah recently completed a twelve month attachment as one of the Traverse Theatre's 'Traverse Fifty', and was previously a member of the theatre's Young Playwright and Class Act schemes. She has recently finished her first full-length play, The Boundary. Deborah is represented by Mary Nelson at Nelson Browne Management Ltd.
