"In documentaries, the viewer has less tolerance for pain than in fiction". Filmmaker with expertise in multiple areas in the field. She studied Audiovisual Directing and a degree in Aesthetics and Social Communication at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She is internationally recognized for her documentary work with pieces such as La Once, nominated for the Goya Award for Best Ibero-American Film, or El Agente Topo, nominated for the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, an award to which she was nominated again with La Memoria Infinita, a film that finally won her the Goya. Her work is characterized by her sharp and sensitive eye, always bringing a unique edge to complex and politically committed issues. El Lugar de la Otra is her first fiction feature film, premiered in the official competition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
