Angus Fletcher

Angus Fletcher is a professor of English and Film Studies at Ohio State University. He both teaches screenwriting and practices it. He previously taught at the University of Southern California. He earned a Ph.D. in English from Yale University in 2003. He has studied and taught dramatic theory from Greco-Roman times through the Elizabethan period to modern cinema. In 2007, he wrote and directed the film S.E.R.E. (2008) solely using the resources of the USC School of Cinematic Arts and actors from the school's theater department. As of 2019, his screenplay, Middle Earth, is in production. He has also worked with neuro-scientists to understand how storytelling and story appreciation have an evolutionary role in human behavior and society. He is featured in the Great Courses DVD series, "Screenwriting 101: Mastering the Art of Story".
