Micka Luna is a self-taught Spanish composer, musician and sound designer. Micka's interests encompass all artistic disciplines, which have allowed him to develop a career in many different disciplines both nationally and internationally. His natural instinct for finding and creating new projects makes of him an unclassifiable and multidisciplinary artist. His music departs from minimalism, working the synthesis as a global idea. The compositions, treated with exquisite thoroughness, exude sensitivity and elegance, with stripes of a clear contemporary vocation and a promising progression towards new musical languages of communication. Micka has engaged various artists working with different forms of expression, which produces an unique fit between music and film, contemporary dance, experimental theater, fashion, video-art and installations. Most recently the composition, production and sound design of the score "Son & Moon. Diario de un astronauta", film directed by Manuel Huerga and Michael Lopez Alegria and the composition of the score "Ingrid", film directed by Eduard Cortes. 'The Gates' is Micka's second collaboration with choreographer Raewyn Hill. In 2011 they will create a new full-length score in Australia for Dancenorth. His music has been heard at festivals and art centers around the world.
