Laurence is a writer, director, and producer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for film and television. After college, Laurence began working at Entertainment 360 ("Game of Thrones," "Steve Jobs"). With a lifelong passion for feature films, he soon transitioned to production, where he worked as a director's assistant on Fox's "Fantastic Four" (dir. Josh Trank). In 2013, Laurence directed the short film "Life In Text", a relationship drama starring Alexandra Daddario ("The White Lotus"), and Tyler Ritter ("The McCarthy's). It was featured on Bustle and Slash Film, and premiered at LACMA's Art+Film Lab. After creating eye-catching content for brands like Participant Media and Pressed Juicery, Laurence shifted his attention to the music industry. There, he began directing and producing a wide array of music videos and documentaries for a plethora of top artists including: GRAMMY-winner Iggy Pop, Common, Andrew Bird, Valerie June, Grace Potter, Santana, Robert Glasper, as well as legends like R.E.M., Steve Martin, and Elvis Costello. In 2018, Laurence directed the first-ever official music video for Creedence Clearwater Revival's iconic song "Have You Ever Seen The Rain". Starring Sasha Frolova ("Little America"), Jack Quaid and Erin Moriarty ("The Boys"), the video has 300+million views to date. In 2020, Laurence directed "Connie & Sly" a female-driven short choreographed by Whyteberg (Mac Miller, Anderson .Paak), with an original score by Bobak Lotfipour ("A Ghost Story", "The Green Knight"). Laurence's work has been featured on: NPR, Pitchfork, The Washington Post, LA Times, Paste Magazine, American Airlines, Complex, UPROXX, Bustle, Film School Rejects, Nerdist, Consequence of Sound, as well as broadcast outlets MTV, VH1, and CMT.
