Maria Calvo Valdes

She arrived in Cuba on July 13 1949 and in 1950 she started her artistic career, where she has been working without interruption. She excels both in lyrical song and popular, as well as drama and comedy. She has worked in TV, radio, theater, cabaret and cinema. She has been musically directed by Gonzalo Roig, Rodrigo Prats, Adolfo Guzmán, Valdés Arnau, Félix Guerrero and Julio Brito. Mario Romeu, Kamal Kairuz, Enriqueta Almanza and Carlos Amsa among others have accompanied Maruja Calvo at the piano during her performances. She has appeared in Cuban, Mexican and Spanish programs and artistic events.
