A former very bad graphic designer, Dave quit his last job in April 2005 in order to chase a career he was passionate about. He now makes a living from the stories and lessons generated by endurance adventures and social exploration projects. He had spoken extensively with his Adventurous Motivation and Say Yes More lectures, conducting numerous tours and one-off events on six continents. As of February 2013 he had authored two books, and expected the next four to be published by the end of the year. Dave's adventure career is based around Expedition1000: a series of 25 journeys of 1000 miles or more, each using a different form of non-motorised transport. As of March 2013 he had completed seven of these journeys, including skateboarding across Australia, Stand Up Paddleboarding the Mississippi River and swimming 1001 miles down the Missouri River. Full expedition rundown below.
