Jun Gu Biography Jun Gu graduated from Beijing Film Academy in 1991. She has been working as a documentary director since 1991. She is the first Asian female director to have directed an IOC (International Olympic Committee) official film. For the 29th Beijing Olympic Games, she made two award winning documentary-"Dream Weavers - Beijing 2008", and the IOC official film "The Everlasting Flame". These projects took 7 years to be completed, and has won awards including the Outstanding Achievement for Filmmaker Award at the 10th U.S Newport Beach International Film Festival, and the Special Grand Award at the 33rd Montreal International Film Festival. In 2010, Gu Jun filmed the first official film of the Asian Games for the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) . Besides, she produced the documentary for the 2011 Summer Universiade. All sport movies listed above won Excellence Award of Sports Movies & TV Award in the Milano International FICTS Festival, making her the most exceptional sport documentary filmmaker in China. In addition to Documentary Filmmaking, Jun Gu has directed over 90 episodes of documentary TV series. From 2012 to 2016, she made the 10-episode documentary: "Between China and the US." And from 2014-2016, she directed an 8-episode documentary "Headway on the Maritime Silk Road". This film acquired the China Certificate of Golden Kapok Award in the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival. Most recently, she directed the 6-episode documentary, "Guangzhou Story."
