Robyn LaJoya Charles, youngest daughter of 12 to the legendary singer and artist, Ray Charles Robinson, raised on the Westside of Chicago, partnered with CEO and Producer, T. Jordan, of A-Class Productions as a singer-songwriter/ producer in 2013. This venture spawned songs such as "Let's Talk About It," as well as her current single, "I Don't Know" released September 2017. As of August 2015, she signed on as the leading role in the stage production "His Double Life" (No Jive Productions) which debuted in Atlanta, November 2017. Robyn placed her co-write with Lawrence Tolbert "Sad Song," on the movie score and soundtrack "Love N Success" September 2015. The "Daughter of the Legend" has worked with such notable artists/ producers as R. Kelly, Smokie Norful, Manny Fresh, and Fred "Uncle Freddie" Jerkins (producer of "Feelings"). She's also worked with such notable actors as Ralph Harris (Manish Boy and Dreamgirls), Samuel Jackson, and the late Bernie Mac on Soul Men. Robyn tirelessly cultivates her skill as a songwriter with other artists such as Shannon Sanders, Chaise Flanders ("Tingling"), Kavi Karkaino ("Theme Park" and "Watch ME!"), Gary "G-Note Write" Saddler, The Youngbloodz, Sam P. Addams and Tetraz of Krazy Swag Ent., Kool Mo Dee, Wesley Hogges, & Eric Williams of Blackstreet, "Commissioner" Gordon Williams of Lalabela Music ("Feel Like Singin,""Smile,""Over Somethin,"and "Ask Him" co-produced with T. Jordan of A-Class Productions) on her EP project Conversation Peace." After a brief run with the "Daughters of Legends Tour" with Carla Cooke (daughter of the late Sam Cooke) and Rhonda Ross (daughter of Diana Ross) Robyn founded R. Charles & Co. Music Publishing House. In this effort, she has teamed up with Jentleman Sharp (Cambium Music) and Shawn Bailey (Zilah Music Publishing) t to develop a rich and eclectic library which she has coined "Urban Soul-Ties," with influences of Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Funk, Blues, Island, Country, Pop, Rock and Hip-Hop. Robyn recently began production on her first album project titled "Dirty Laundry" with Jerrell "J Rell" Moore of Inkkwell Music and will be releasing the first single from this project, "What Love Feels Like," early summer. Guest features on this album are Grammy award winning Robert Glasper and 2018 Grammy nominated artist Musiq Soulchild. Robyn is also planning a tribute album project for her father with Robert Glasper as well as the production of a One Woman Show Tour called "Dirty Laundry LIVE" to kick off fall 2018. Through her life experiences and her desire to further her family legacy, Robyn's independent music endeavors will not only introduce her to the industry, but to the world. Following in her father's footsteps, Robyn expects and demands to be known for her own gifts, talents, artistry, and accomplishments. She's not just "Ray Charles' Daughter" anymore!
