Robert Carder "Bob" Coe's family moved to Wasco, California - where the famed "North By Northwest" cropdusting scene was filmed - as a boy and he attended Wasco Union High School, graduating in 1941. From 1944 into early 1946, he served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a multi-engine instructor, a B-17 pilot and a B-29 pilot. He was a local crop duster pilot in and around the Wasco area for 37 years, and he was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Elks, and the Loyal Order of Coyotes.
