Ben Churchill

Ben Churchill is a director and producer of documentary films and docu-series, known for The Tommy Edison Experience, Video World, and Doing America. He was born on October 15, 1977 and grew up in Woodbury, Connecticut where he eventually began working at the local video store when he was sixteen years old. In 1997, while studying Communications at Southern Connecticut State University, he began his professional career in radio when worked as a morning show producer & on-air personality at WEZN-FM in Bridgeport, Connecticut and a control board operator at WMNR-FM in Monroe, Connecticut. It was during this time he met Tommy Edison with whom he created two popular web series fourteen years later. In 1999, Ben began hosting and producing The Radio Trip independently, a weekly-to-monthly radio show that featured stand-up comedy, clips from movies and television, and a variety of genres of music. Over the years, Ben hosted The Radio Trip on three different radio stations - WQAQ-FM in Hamden, Connecticut, WNHU-FM in West Haven, Connecticut, and WPKN-FM in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1999, Ben worked as the Production Director for the American Comedy Network, a company which produced comedy sketches for hundreds of radio shows throughout the United States including The Howard Stern Show. In 2007, Ben switched his focus from radio to film and television when he began working at Palace Production Center in South Norwalk, Connecticut where he worked on a number of documentaries, as a producer and editor, including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition - Behind The Scenes and No Kidding, Me Too! directed by Joe Pantoliano. During this time, Ben produced and directed a number of independent documentary shorts including Shooting 5 People In One Day and Shooting Frederick Douglass. In 2011, Ben teamed up with Tommy Edison to create the Blind Film Critic and The Tommy Edison Experience web series. Ben continued to release documentary shorts including Toy Place, Wrestling Dreams, and Video World which focused on the closing of his hometown video store where he had his first job. In 2013, Ben moved to California to continue producing documentaries and docu-series including Doing America and Drag King. He also joined TV4 Entertainment to eventually become the Head of Production for Television Four Studios producing original content for TV and digital distribution.
