Jonathan Castro is a New York City native who has been acting since age seven in school plays and just about anywhere else he could. He has also been pounding out stories since he was given his first typewriter at age eight. As an adult, he is remaining true to his creative instincts by working consistently and diligently, carving out his place in the arts. His first job came at eighteen, and was just on the outskirts of acting. It was at local television station WNYX 35 in New York where he was given a two hour time slot five days a week, and was paid to host his own LIVE talk/music video request show. He has since gone on to lead roles in both English and Spanish commercials (including a national spot for Chevrolet), and many varied film and television works. These include leading turns as a temperamental womanizing playboy in the comedic mockumentary Not Another Reality Show. The wise but struggling older brother trying to keep chaos at bay in the urban drama Mi Familia. And a derailed young government agent in the genre-bending The Great Reign Robbery; a starring role for which he was featured in The New York Times. Apart from acting, he also writes, directs, produces and edits various comedic and dramatic projects under his own Synchronic Productions banner.
