Ryan Hope Travis is a nationally recognized actor, director, theater-maker, and multi-hyphenate filmmaker whose work often addresses issues of social change. As a multi-hyphenate filmmaker (i.e., writer, director, and cinematographer), Ryan has 10 short films to his credit, with several having their world premieres at film festivals in New York City, Austin, Miami, Los Angeles, and the Academy Award-qualifying, Atlanta Film Festival. His debut feature film, Cocoa in the Dark, is in post-production. He has taught at Syracuse University, Colgate University, and Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and now is an Assistant Professor in Acting at the University of Florida. He has served as Executive Artistic Director of the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company in Syracuse, NY and the Youth Project Director and Engaging Men Project Coordinator at Peace Over Violence in Los Angeles. He is the founder and lead filmmaker of Arcable, a film production company dedicated to producing works of art rooted in social commentary.
