While playing major roles in films, TV dramas, and theatre, Dai began practicing tate, or sword fighting in 2003. In 2007, he established his own tate troupe called Katanayaichi. He performs in numerous stages including live shows, period dramas, and corporate receptions. Katanayaichi has been widely acclaimed for its creative and innovative series of movements. It offers an essence of classical Japanese dance and aikido. The blend of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture creates a whole new tate experience.
