Babis Tsoutsas was born in Athens. Studied film directing in Prague at P.C.F.E. Film School and international business in Athens at ACG Deree. Since 2001, he has worked as a director, producer and editor for more than 15 short films, 3 feature documentaries and multiple commercials or TV series. On 2007 he established the production company, SugarHigh Films, in Athens and London, a team of filmmakers, storytellers, designers and animators. In 2009, he founded the Aegean Film Festival (former IFFP) - a non profit organisation for the promotion of world independent cinema and storytelling. Since 2017 the festival has expanded to two islands of the Aegean, over 12 days, has established international affiliations with other festivals and produced numerous workshops, seminars and exhibitions. In 2018, Babis established the Aegean Film Lab in London for the creation of masterclasses and workshops on storytelling or idea generation and the Echoes programme for the support of environmental projects through documentary and storytelling.
