Julia Liu is a Providence, Rhode Island based filmmaker and artist seeking to promote diversity in front of and behind the lens. Her passion for visual storytelling started through drawing comics, evolving into filmmaking as a way to bring her illustrations to life. Liu is a contributing director to the New York Times Op-Doc Series and is a Doc NYC 40 Under 40 Honoree. She is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, Society of Camera Operators and a graduate of Brown University.
