Jess Canty

Founded in 2004 as an independent film and television development company, Cinterra Pictures in 2015 expanded to become Cinterra Entertainment, a fully integrated Production and Management Company. A "Theater Company for Film" each of our clients, in addition to persuing their individual careers in their respective fields, are also member-artists of Cinterra Entertainment, while Cinterra Pictures produces work originating from this talented pool. As a founding member, Jess, has produced two feature-length documentary films, Namaste Nepal (2009) and Big in Bollywood(2011) and directed a number of short comedy sketches in association with Humor Endorphins and Spazzboxx. She is also the co-writer and director of Cinterra Entertainment's TV Series Palisades Justice and is in development on three feature screenplays. Prior to producing, directing and writing, Jess held a number of positions at CinemaNow, Inc., most notably as Director of Acquisitions where Jess gained in-depth knowledge of the distribution of Movies, Television and Music Videos with an emphasis on new media. During her time at CinemaNow, Jess was responsible for negotiating distribution contracts with all major movie studios, music labels and a number of "mini-majors" including Lions Gate Entertainment, Vivendi Entertainment, and Image Entertainment. Jess' first job in entertainment was as an assistant to Joseph Singer (Courage Under Fire) where she learned valuable first-hand knowledge of the film development process. While earning her BA from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television she co-produced the annual Theaterfest '01, a three-day festival of over 40 original student productions
