With his roots stemming from East Chicago, Rico Montañez discovered his passion for acting in high school when he was duped into auditioning for a school play and was unwittingly cast in the lead role. Graduating high school at the top of his class, he received a full academic scholarship to Purdue University, West Lafayette. It was there that he also discovered his second passion when he appealed for and was granted special permission from the head of the Theatre department to join their stage combat class, a privilege exclusively reserved for Arts majors. He not only excelled in the class, he became the teacher's assistant where he spent countless hours choreographing the upcoming class' combat lessons. Always determined to triumph, he maintained the Dean's list all four years while working full-time, graduating with a BA in Management and a minor in International Business. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles where he furthered his education by studying the acting techniques of the masters, including Meisner, Chekhov and Stanislovsky. He also continued his training in fight choreography and stunt work, honing his skills in wushu (martial arts), weapons and stunt falling. His tireless work paid off when he was offered a position as stunt choreographer in a feature film within his first year in Los Angeles. Following that success, he created a dedicated stunt team and is now working on a number of films and oversees all projects at Mobar Visions, LLC.
