Or grew up in Israel, where he early on developed a sense of the divisive nature of prejudice, and a feeling of his own social responsibility. After becoming involved with various civil liberties and animal rights organisations, he developed a passion for filmmaking as a teenager and quickly understood the power of the medium of film to spread his message. Or has worked in a variety of roles in the film and TV industry, as well as pursuing several independent projects. From helping establish a UN TV channel in Africa, to opening his own production company, Or has never shied away from a challenge. In 2010 Or released his first feature-long film, PLANEAT, having made it completely independently. PLANEAT received many outstanding reviews - The Times described it as "earth-shattering", The Herald said it "should be compulsory viewing", and Or's filmmaking style was praised as "utterly compelling" by Empire Magazine, and "punchy and inspirational" by Total Film. Or was inspired to start and work on another film, 'Don't Leave Us Kids Alone!' by his brother Amir. Amir had a simple but inspirational idea of opening a school in Israel for children from both sides of the religious divide. He felt that by teaching our children that we all share basic human values, and that we must cultivate empathy based on a sense of similarity, he could help in some way to build a new brighter future.
