Abel Arias is an actor, improviser, and an all-around good human. He has appeared in successful network shows such as Criminal Minds and Angie Tribeca. Growing up in San Francisco, Abel fell in love with acting and comedy from a young age. Eager to pursue a career in the arts, he enrolled in Theatre classes at UC Santa Cruz. While there, a growing interest in DJing inspired him to create an entire radio show that is still captivating KZSC listeners to this day. Abel's curiosity led him to complete classes in the art of clowning and juggling as well - learning a playfulness that he utilizes in all of his acting work. After graduating, Abel moved to Los Angeles and immediately enrolled in classes at The Groundlings, Upright Citizen Brigade (UCB), and ComedySportz (CSz). For the next 15 years, Abel made a living working in the entertainment industry and performing stand-up at iconic venues such as The Comedy Store, The Ice House, and The Improv. After years of performing, Abel took this knowledge to teach at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and guest teach at high schools in the Los Angeles area. His experience motivated him to create a curriculum specifically for actors who want to apply the principles and skills of improvisation to scripted performance. Abel continues to act, teach, improvise, and explore the many facets of the entertainment industry.
