Jeanne Black was first known to Americans on the television show "Hometown Jamboree". By 1960 she was signed to Capitol records and her first single release, "He'll Have To Stay" shot up the charts. The song was the answer song to Jim Reeves big hit, "He'll Have To Go". She was one of the early women to record in a country-pop sound and her first single release was at the top of both country and pop charts. Another hit, "Lisa" followed, along with her first and only album "A Little Bit Lonely". She married performer Arval "Mark" Shipley and in later years married fellow performer Billy Strange.
