Matthieu Pigasse is a Partner in Centerview's Paris office With over twenty years of experience in investment banking, Matthieu Pigasse has developed a solid financial expertise and worked on many of the most significant M&A transactions and sovereign advisory assignments in the last few years. Until late 2019, he was Global head of M&A and Sovereign advisory at Lazard and Chairman and CEO of Lazard France. He joined Centerview in April 2020 to open and lead its Paris office and the development of Centerview's client base in Continental Europe. Matthieu Pigasse has an intimate knowledge of the public sector as well as European regulations. After he graduated from Sciences Po and the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA), he started his career in the public service and served in the French Treasury where he was in charge of the cash and debt management for the French State. He then became Cabinet Advisor to the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, in charge of the financial sector, and then Chief of Staff of Laurent Fabius, Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry, in charge of industrial and financial matters. Through his personal investments in the media, Matthieu Pigasse developed a proven expertise of the new business models of the media industry. He is the owner and Chairman of Les Nouvelles Editions Indépendantes (LNEI), which gathers Radio Nova, the magazine Les Inrockuptibles, the "Rock en Seine" festival and the magazine Cheek, as well as his investments in several media like the French edition of the Huffington Post or Melty Group. He is also the joint controlling shareholder of the Le Monde Group (Le Monde, Télérama, Courrier International, L'Obs) and Chairman of Les Eurockéennes de Belfort, one of the largest rock festivals in Europe, recently named the best festival in the world.
