After graduating from NCSA, he moved back to New York City to attend NYU and received his MFA in costume design. He designs costumes primarily for Broadway, theater, and dance; his most well-known work for theater is on Hamilton (2015) for which he won the Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical in 2016. Film and television works include The Wiz! Live (2015) for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2016, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (2017), and Elaine Stritch at Liberty (2002).
